South African businessman and Contributing Editor to In Search of Fatherhood®, a quarterly international Fatherhood and Men’s Issues Journal, Mr. Nkomo Lethukuthula has been tapped to serve as Chair of South Africa’s International Men’s Day “Teach Peace” Children’s Literacy Initiative. The International Men’s Day “Teach Peace” Children’s Literacy Initiative was recently launched to help 2.2 billion children throughout our global village rise above chaos and violence.
This initiative is a cathartic forum which gives these children a voice through the written word—essays and poems which they create—to express to the Adults of the World how the turbulent and violent world they live impacts them—spiritually, psychologically, and emotionally. The Initiative also gives voice to their vision of how we can peacefully co-exist.
Mr. Lethukuthula who is the President and Chief Executive Officer of A and L Holdings in Gauteng, Johannesburg, South Africa, will be working with schools, children’s organizations, parents, school administrators and educators throughout South Africa to encourage participation in the Literacy Initiative.
The poems and essays will be submitted to IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD® and published in its CHILDREN’S CORNER segment and also on the Children’s Corner blog http://buildingabridgetothefut
“I will utilize The South Africa International Men’s Day ‘Teach Us Peace’ Children’s Literacy Initiative as a vehicle to create a generation of computer literate children and a new generation of published authors for South Africa. This is a task that is a shared responsibility. As a result, I will be creating partnerships with organizations and businesses and other key stakeholders willing to help provide our children with the necessary tools they will need to become computer literate. At the same time, as Chair of the South Africa International Men’s Day ‘Teach Us Peace’ Children’s Literacy Initiative, I will be working with Diane A. Sears, who serves as the Managing Editor of IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD® and Chair of the International Men’s Day ‘Teach Us Peace’ Children’s Literacy Initiative in introducing the world to the literary works created by the Children of South Africa,” explained Mr. Lethukuthula.
”In Search Of Fatherhood® looks forward to publishing the essays and poems of South Africa’s children. Mr. Lethukuthula is a great visionary and humanitarian and I look forward to working with him. We are thrilled that he accepted the invitation to become the Chair of the South Africa International Men’s Day ‘Teach Us Peace’ Children’s Literacy Initiative,” remarked Diane A. Sears, Managing Editor o fIn Search Of Fatherhood®, USA Coordinator for International Men’s Day, and Chair of the International Men’s Day ‘Teach Us Peace’ Children’s Literacy Initiative.
