What was once a clear lead in his campaign for U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ old seat has become an uncertain match-up between him and Democrat Doug Jones after several women accused Moore of sexual assault, including one who was 14 years old at the time. National Republican leaders have abandoned Moore, and now some have even thought of launching a write-in campaign for Luther Strange, who is currently standing in for Sessions in the Senate. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) called Strange, the former Alabama AG, an “excellent alternative,” and Social seems to agree, giving Strange 61 percent positive sentiments. But there could be one big obstacle in the way of Strange vying for the Senate: Strange himself. According to The Hill, Strange himself has called the prospects of a write-in campaign “highly unlikely,” probably because he has already faced off against Moore. In September, Strange was defeated by Moore in the GOP primary for the seat Moore could now lose. –Hugo Guzman
