Along with classmate Emma Gonzalez, Hogg has become a figurehead for the national movement to tighten gun restrictions and prevent mass shootings. But Hogg has also become notorious on social media for going after his critics with gusto. In late March, Hogg and conservative pundit Laura Ingraham feuded after Ingraham mocked Hogg’s reaction to college acceptance woes. Hogg called for an advertiser boycott of Ingraham’s show, The Ingraham Angle. The boycott, which saw companies like pharmaceutical giant Bayer AG cut ties with Ingraham, prompted an apology from the pundit, but Hogg shot her down. That reaction hasn’t gone over well online, with Hogg’s Twitter handle seeing 56 percent negatives. Many call him a bully, and Hogg’s boycott may have had the opposite effect because of how he is being perceived by many. The Ingraham Angle lost almost 30 advertisers, but according to media watchdog News Busters, the show has gained just over 20 percent more viewers. –Hugo Guzman
