The Good Men Project

The Humbling Transparency of Sharing on Facebook

When I have the time to browse the many posts on Facebook, I realize how much happens each day to the many people I know that significantly impacts their lives. The information from a single day alone can be overwhelming.

We are simultaneously complex, fragile, passionate, and in flux. It’s daunting, really, and while separated by space our journeys are intertwined.

Life, death, success, failure, sickness, health, heroes celebrated, villains called out, families rising to challenges, news events colliding with our steady focus — all of it in constant, overlapping, cyclical motion. It’s humbling, and a rare privilege to take in the authenticity of all that is willingly shared.
