“The opposite of depression is vitality.”
His gently poignant, poetic, and at times, humorous observations of his personal struggle and the struggles of others was validating on many levels. His stories brought back memories of the uncontrollable anxiety and depression that lead me into a darkness from which I did not emerge until my late 50’s. Depression is the leading disability worldwide and to those of us living with depression, Solomon’s openness about his own life is a healthy reminder that we are not alone and that it is no longer taboo to talk about depression, – For anyone who has sunk below the surface of sadness and drifted beyond grief into the depths of depression, this talk is worth pausing to view.

As someone who has dealt with depression in his own life and been raised by a depressed Mom and a Dad who tried to commit suicide, I appreciate seeing and hearing (and having read) Solomon. There is deep truth and humanity to his experience, great hope, love and life. Thanks for sharing it with us here.
