We have all been there at some point in our life. We read an article which talks about the routine of a successful entrepreneur and try to make one of our own while using the guidelines of that person.
Fastfoward to a week or so and you have already forgotten about said routine because it does not follow what you actually want to do every single day but rather what you think that you should be doing every day.
Do not get me wrong, sometimes what you think that you should be doing is the way to go, but how you schedule your day has more importance than you may think.
Imagine that I want to write an article for medium every single day, do you think I should put it at the end of my day when I’m feeling tired? No, I put it in a moment throughout my day where I’m feeling energetic (the morning right after meditating and reading) or at some time where you still have energy to do it.
There really isn’t an exact way of doing your schedule, you simply have to start experimenting on what works for you and what doesn’t!
You may be a morning person which means that you benefit on doing the big stuff in the morning or you may be a person that prefers to do his work late at night!
Having said that, I’m pretty sure that if you don’t stick at least a bit to how you are and what you like doing then there will be little to no results.
Yes, I know that there are things we don’t like doing but are important in our day to day life but knowing where to put them in a way that it doesn’t seem as boring will make your day that more enjoyable!
Never underestimate the power of scheduling the day the way that you really want not the way other successful people have done it before! (you can still borrow ideas from those successful people though)
If you have a schedule then check it right now, do you feel like you are enjoying it? If not then what could you tweak to make it better? I personally like to drink coffee in the afternoon in my house and that is something I’m looking forward to every day after finishing work! Give yourself something each day, it may be a coffee or a nap, if you are younger like me then you could play some video games for a while! Make it your reward each day!
If you don’t have a schedule then I highly recommend you to install one on your phone. A really good choice is Google Calendar since its planner is really slick and easy to use! Make your schedule and see how it goes, if you aren’t actually feeling good while doing it then feel free to tweak it until you find that sweet-spot.
It may take some time to find that “perfect” schedule but the results re worth it!
