This funny video proves that sometimes the judges for competitive diving (or gymnastics, ice skating, boxing, dog shows…etc.) can be all wet.
Last weekend I had a boxing match on ESPN Classic playing in the background while I worked on some projects in the basement. At the end of the fight, one of the commentators was stunned at the scoring—he thought that based on judge’s scores, the wrong boxer won the fight.
The commentator noted, “What fight were those judges watching, because it wasn’t this one?!?”
That got me thinking about all the times that I’ve scratched my head when a judge’s scores didn’t match the competitive performance I’d just seen.
It just so happens, I found this video from the funny folks over at Studio C which captures this phenomenon nicely.
