The sexual harassment charges leveled against him didn’t stick, but in light of the #MeToo movement and the slew of misconduct allegations against powerful men in every corner of society, Thomas’s past is being brought up again. Journalist Jill Abramson, the former executive editor of The New York Times, wrote a piece over the weekend for New York magazine that resurrects the claims made by Anita Hill against Thomas in the early ’90s and illustrates how congressional Republicans teamed up to push past Hill and put their man on the bench. The piece also discusses the poor job then-Sen. Joe Biden did in defending Hill, and how multiple other women who had alleged harassment by Thomas never got their chance to speak. One of those women — Angela Wright-Shannon — penned a column telling her side of the story for Huff Post on Monday, writing, “It’s highly unlikely that Thomas will be impeached, but we can hope.” Abramson, too, called for Thomas to be removed “because of the lies he told, repeatedly and under oath.” Over the past 90 days, Clarence Thomas has a 17 percent positive score on 30dB. –Alex Shultz
