During Thursday’s Tour de France stage up Mount Ventoux, race leader Chris Froome crashed into the back of a camera motorcycle. His team car — with a replacement bike — was “miles behind,” so he just took off running until the car could arrive with the new bike. We’re not sure if that’s totally legal, but it’s pretty crazy.

Here’s the crash that forced Froome to turn into a runner. It appears the motorcycle was forced to stop by crowd encroachment, causing Froome and another ride to crash into it:
