Devastating news about Jimmy “Mack” McNair, writing partner of Tracy Morgan, and thoughts of healing and recovery to Morgan and his team.

Last night, a limo bus carrying several comics including star Tracy Morgan crashed in New Jersey. Their car turned over while colliding with five other vehicles, including two tractor trailers and an SUV.

Tragically, one death has been reported of Jimmy McNair, 63, known as “Jimmy Mack” to the comic community. Authorities pronounced McNair dead at the scene. “Mack” was Morgan’s writing partner and close friend.

Reports indicate at least two others besides Morgan are in critical condition. Sources say one of those was comic Ardie Fuqua, who was touring with, and regularly opens for, Morgan.

The other was Morgan’s assistant. All three are in critical condition.

Harris Stanton, another comic on tour with Morgan, was not seriously hurt, according to sources. The crash resulted apparently from a tractor trailer barreling into slow moving traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike.

The group was heading back to New York from a performance in Delaware. Fuqua sent this Instagram message out before the crash, detailing their night and showing the limo they were taking.

His message read, “This is what it looks like from the stage to see a standing ovation from 1500 people. Then we traveled back to NYC in style in a luxury Mercedes Sprinter. Road life is a good life! #tracymorgan”

We wish a full recovery for the people injured, and our thoughts are with Jimmy Mack’s family.
