Democrat Conor Lamb, 33, and Republican Rick Saccone, 60, have been vying for Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District seat since last year when former representative Tim Murphy resigned after it was revealed that the staunch anti-abortion pol had pressured a lover into getting an abortion. The Dems and GOP have been pouring resources into the race as a harbinger of November’s midterms. Air Force veteran Saccone, an ex-counterintelligence officer and state representative, was leading over Lamb, an ex-Marine and former federal prosecutor, in February, and now Lamb has a narrow edge. Lamb is wooing supporters of Trump, who held a raucous rally for Saccone last weekend, and hoping to ride the Democratic surge that has seen wins across the nation. But RealClearPolitics — which says Lamb has a 2-point lead in its polling averages — calls the race a “tossup.” Twitter’s a bit more optimistic for Lamb who is puling 75 percent positives over the last week compared to 71 percent positives for Saccone. –Hugo Guzman
