The one area Americans are excelling in is snowboarding, thanks in part to Chloe Kim and Shaun White. Kim became one of the breakout stars of the Olympics after the 17-year-old easily won the women’s snowboard half-pipe. She posted a 98.25 score out of 100 in her final run, and did so while tweeting about how hungry she was in between rounds. White, meanwhile, made a dramatic comeback in his last run of the men’s half-pipe to emerge victorious with a 97.75 score. It was his third gold medal, but he’s catching heat in the aftermath from a sexual harassment suit in 2016 that he somewhat callously addressed at a press conference in PyeongChang. He called the suit “gossip,” and event directors attempted to stop reporters from asking questions about his past behavior. White later apologized for the word choice and released a statement to The New York Times, writing, “I regret my behavior of many years ago and am sorry that I made anyone — particularly someone I considered a friend — uncomfortable.” Over the past three days, @ChloeKimSnow has a 79 percent positive score on Social, while @ShaunWhite has a 74 percent score. –Alex Shultz
