Anyone who has older children knows—as they get bigger, so do their problems. Gone are the days of spilled milk and biters in preschool. Instead, we are faced with helping them navigate high school, mental health issues, and adolescence in our digital world—and all that comes with it.
But how do we manage it all when most of us admit that we have no idea what we are doing as parents? How do we keep them talking to us when they are at a time in their lives when they are naturally pulling away from their parents, preferring to confide in their friends, instead?
And Dads, how do you teach your kids how to face the big, emotional issues they are confronted with head-on, when men are taught by society to not show their emotions, or even sometimes to deal with them?
We want to hear from you! Share your own personal experiences with managing the bigger issues that older children face. How do you stay strong for them when you are feeling overwhelmed by the magnitude of it all?

The Good Men Project is different from most media companies. We are a “participatory media company”—which means we don’t just have content you read and share and comment on but it means we have multiple ways you can actively be a part of the conversation. As you become a deeper part of the conversation—The Conversation No One Else is Having (TM)—you will learn all of the ways we support our Writers’ Community—community FB groups, weekly conference calls, classes in writing, editing platform building and How to Create Social Change.
