This beautiful, yet deadly poisonous Oleander will hold onto her leaves all year round.
As I shift sideways the sunlight refracts into a thousand rainbow shards that bathe this leaf with life sustaining energy.
From underneath one can see the resultant sweet food transmitted through the ramifying network of veins back into the main stem.
Moving to the sunward facing topside, this leaf is covered with innumerable pale spots of Saharan sand that has blown here on the back of the great levante wind.
In time this desert dust will drop to the forest floor and be incorporated into the soil, of this, a different continent.
There are so many wild stories to be found on the surface of just this one leaf – imagine the scale of the epic tale that this whole forest has to tell.
