With the Supreme Court set to hear cases on both DOMA, and California’s Proposition 8, the reality of how those rulings could directly affect children who have same-sex parents is coming into the spotlight. 12-year-old Daniel Martinez-Leffew is one of those children. Daniel lives in northern California with his younger sister and their two dads. Knowing that Proposition 8 is in the balance, Daniel decided he wanted to write a letter to Justice Roberts to explain what it would mean to his family if the court decides to uphold California’s legislation regarding same-sex marriage.
