Japanese journalist Kosuke Tseneoka had been held captive for five months in Afghanistan when one of his captors came in to show off his new smart phone and asked Tseneoka to help him learn how to use it.
The journalist accessed the Internet and managed to simultaneously install an Al Jazeera newsfeed for his captor and shoot off two tweets from his captor’s phone, documenting his status:
Tseneoka was released the day after the incident but reports say that it’s unlikely it had anything to do with the tweeting.
This, however, has little impact on how badass the dude is.
I guess it can no longer be argued that twitter is a waste of time
