While the NFL may have kicked-off lat night with the Saints marching to a 14-9 victory over the Vikings, Sunday isn’t for another two days. We all know the season really doesn’t start until then, so here’s a bit of reading to get you ready for Week One.
ESPN columnist (and fellow Holy Cross alum) Bill Simmons reveals his new gambling strategies for the 2010 season. He also offers up his week one picks, which you’d be well advised to completely ignore.
Also at ESPN, Matthew Berry previews the first week from a fantasy standpoint. I’m sure a few of you signed up for leagues this year but have no idea what you’re doing. Listen to Berry. He’s crazy, but knows what he’s talking about.
From a slightly more rational viewpoint, here’s Sports Illustrated’s Peter King with his thoughts heading into Sunday’s games.
Lastly, although the mullet is gone and his team is 0-1, Jared Allen is still one of the best guys in the league. Watch here and enjoy the weekend.
