Interns/apprentices wanted now.
Are you a Good Men Project fan? Do you want to help out with our ongoing conversation about manhood in the 21st century? Do you want to learn the hands-on details of the online publishing world?
The Good Men Project is looking for a few good interns, or apprentices if you prefer that term. The right applicants will help format articles in our house style, as well as do copy editing, image formatting, and participating in editorial direction work. Interns who do well may have the opportunity to progress to other duties, including writing and paid section editing. Experience working with WordPress or a similar online publishing platform is preferred but not required; the most important qualifications are an enthusiastic interest in our mission, and a willingness to work.
All work may be performed from home (or anywhere with internet, really) and hours are extremely flexible. As long as the work gets done, we don’t care if it’s 1PM or 1AM. Time commitment is about 10-20 hours per week. Interns will be invited to GMP editorial calls and Google+ hangouts, will be trained in the major and minor skills necessary for online publishing, and will have an opportunity to help direct the conversation the Good Men Project is built around.
If you’re interested in becoming part of our team, email with your résumé and a brief cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and explaining why you’re interested in working with us. A member of our senior editorial team will get back to you within a few days.
