Should Chris Brown keep making music, or should he retire already?
While there was much speculation at last night’s 2012 BET Awards, Chris “Breezy” Brown is not retiring anytime soon. This is according to a recent MTV article:
Chris Brown performed at the 2012 BET Awards, and even picked up the award for Best Male R& B album but when Breezy hit the stage to accept, he announced that his upcoming Fortune album will not be his last release.
“I’d like to thank Team Breezy, everybody who worked on any one of my albums,” he said. “My last album that’s coming out in two days.
…I just want to thank all my fans. It’s dedicated to y’all. This one’s for y’all, man, I appreciate everything,” he said, blowing fans a kiss.
I used to like Breezy, before he beat the living shit out of Rihanna and then went jet-skiing. I also can’t say I love his music now, but that’s a matter of personal taste. That being said, I’ve always thought you need to separate the artist from the art. James Brown was arrested for domestic abuse, but I still listen to his music.
What do you think? Should the man keep making music as long as people keep buying it, or should he show some class and get out of the game?
I hope chris brown do not r. hes at the top of his game
Wow, fantastic weblog format! How lengthy have you ever been running a blog for? you made blogging glance easy. The entire look of your web site is wonderful, as smartly as the content!
He wouldn’t be showing more class by getting out of the game. He’d be showing more class by understanding the roots of his mistakes and ensuring he is not perpetuating the same behavior–which I don’t think he’s doing too great a job at.
However, he makes music that people want to buy.
Well… isn’t that what artists do? Make music until no one wants to hear it? Personal taste or not – he sells. Gotta get over it now.
Why should Brown retire from music? Has the quality of his music declined? Because that would pretty much be the only reason to step away.
Yeah! Everybody listen to Copyleft! There is only *one* reason to stop supporting an artist – the quality of his music. That’s why Copyleft loves paedophile music! Copyleft is entirely right to suggest that merely being caught beating and raping kids is a bad reason to quit making music. Copyleft is a moral genius who sees more than us simple types with morals.
Scum.
