First, let’s be clear in saying that we actually know nothing about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s wedding. Unless you hear it from a rep or the celebrity him or herself, it’s just speculation.
But it’s sort of cool to imagine that Brad Pitt is the one in charge of planning their wedding (according to The Sun)… fifteen or so years ago, when I was working in a store that did bridal registry, there were very few grooms who even went with the bride to choose the presents for their registry. Now, as my friends who work in the wedding industry—caterers, photographers, store owners—attest, it’s extremely rare for a man not to be involved in the planning of wedding.
Seems like that’s the way it should be, doesn’t it? Where did this weird idea that weddings are for the bride only come from?
How about you guys? If you’re married, did you help plan your wedding? If not, why not?
If you’re not married, would you like to be involved? Would you be willing to lead the way, as Brad Pitt supposedly is, and take charge of the event?

I would hope that we would be in charge instead of one or the other. Sure there might be some things where one may over rule the other (like bridesmaid dresses, I refuse to have a gang of angry bridesmaids pissed off because they have to wear ugly dresses so they won’t upstage the bride) but all and all I’d like to think it was a team effort.
