Welcome to the World of Partial Government Shutdown 2013! It’s a world of twos, of eithers over there and ors over here, of black and white, of your team and my team, of this or that, of them and us. A world where blame is oxygen and pointing is power.
The last shutdown occurred in 1996 and from the looks of our political landscape we’re bound to see others in the near future. But let’s exit that world for a bit and dive into the issue that seems to be causing all the problems here: Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act. While we sling the blame to politicians who are “out of touch” and “uninformed” and “uncaring,” let’s check ourselves.
