Prince Charles Draws Out the Best in Young People

stand

Prince Charles’ organization, The Prince’s Trust, has spent almost four decades drawing out the best in young people from all walks of life.

In a recent blog for the Huffington Post, Prince Charles shared his passion for, not just young people, but the empowerment and encouragement of them—despite their circumstances. Through his organization, The Prince’s Trust, Prince Charles has aided over 700,000 at risk youth.

Many young people lack confidence. They often suffer low self-esteem and I find that these are the biggest blocks of all. That is why so much of my work in this area has been dedicated to giving young people, especially those excluded by their circumstances from the mainstream, a strong sense of self-worth and a confidence in their ability so that they, rather than others, can put their lives on track. It is my belief that a sense of self-worth and dignity form the bedrock of a cohesive, prosperous and supportive society.

The Prince’s Trust is only one of Prince Charles’ many efforts to raise up a generation of empowered youth. In addition to the Trust, Prince Charles commissioned The Prince’s Teaching Institute, The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts, and the Prince’s Drawing School.

What do you think of the Prince’s efforts?

How can we model this in America? Or do we already?
