Children’s book author meets with his hero Muhammad Ali.
Felix Rodriguez wrote his children’s book Dad, Me, and Muhammad Ali about a dream meeting with the Champ, a personal hero. The book, about growing up fatherless, inspired Ali’s wife, Lonnie, to invite Rodriguez and his son to Kentucky for a book signing, where his dream came true:
“I tell Muhammad about the book, our meeting in 2004, and what an inspiration he was in my life. He couldn’t speak, but he understood everything. He opened his eyes real wide, and he slowly reached out to shake hands.”
