The happy reunion between a Marine and his long time partner that went viral has now turned into a lifelong commitment.
Last year a photo of Sergent Brandon Morgan and his longtime partner, Dalan Wells being reunited went viral on the web. This year, according to Towelroad, the couple got engaged! The original photo was hailed as being “emblematic of the post-‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ mindset in the US,” and their engagement is one more indication of the changing attitude seen nationwide concerning marriage equality for same-sex couples.
Minnesota became the 12th state in the US to legalize same-sex marriage early last month after their legislature voted to approve a bill supporting marriage equality. And earlier this year Rhode Island, which was the only state in New England that had not already passed some form of marriage equality legislation, approved a measure legalizing same-sex marriage as well.
