Good News, President Stewart

In the aftermath of the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, it seems Jon Stewart would fare better than his fake-nemesis, Stephen Colbert, if the two were to ever run for president (which, if you recall, Colbert tried to do back in 2007).

In a poll conducted by the Washington Post, Stewart— host of the popular Daily Show— leads by a hefty 20%, besting his protégé across all age groups. The Post quipped that while this was “despite strong anti-incumbent sentiment across the electorate,” there’s still a juicy untapped demographic out there among seniors who have no idea who either Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert is.

The Daily show host’s base was—shockingly—heavy in the liberal Democratic camp, but even tea party supporters favor Stewart over Colbert.
