To show support for Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, Anonymous UK hacked into and defaced the website of former Cabinet member Peter Hain.
The Associated Press is reporting a story out of the UK where former Cabinet member Peter Hain’s website was defaced by a group identifying itself as Anonymous UK, complete with a logo of a headless man in a business suit emblazoned across a Union Jack.
The AP reports:
But former Wales and Northern Ireland Secretary Peter Hain said Sunday that the attackers don’t seem to have done their homework.
“If the reason … is revenge for Assange’s treatment, it’s weird to attack me,” Hain said in comments carried by the BBC. “They have not done their research because I have supported Assange and opposed his extradition.”
What do you think of this attack? Did Anonymous UK truly not do it’s homework and target the wrong man, or is there a method to this madness?
Or is this a copycat group trying to replicate the work of Anonymous?
What’s your take on the extradition of Julian Assange?
