Man Suing Apple Over Siri

Nicole Johnson can’t help but wonder if Mr. Sandman is next.

I have several Apple products, but I do not own an iPhone. I’m an Android girl; I love my Motorola smartphone.

I never understood the mass pandemonium over the iPhone or the iPhone 4S. There’s no way I would wait in a mile-long line to pay for a phone. (If they were giving them away for free, and serving cocktails to the patient crowd, perhaps I would consider camping out.) The big hype with the iPhone 4S was Siri, the virtual personal assistant.

If you own this device, I’m curious: do you think Siri is worth the fanfare?

Yes, Siri is a fascinating feature; however, Apple has made it known since inception that Siri is in beta mode. In fact, Apple’s website has a visible beta logo on Siri’s homepage. Beta mode is good for many, but apparently it is not good enough for Frank M. Fazio.

Mr. Fazio has filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple Inc. He is suing Apple over advertisements for the Siri feature, claiming they are “fundamentally and designedly false and misleading” and calls the ads “a fiction.”

Do you think Mr. Fazio has a case? Should Apple be sued?

Our society has become so litigious; it’s nauseating. Clearly, no one is safe. I wonder if someone will be suing Mr. Sandman and Kia Motors over this ad:

Here’s my advice: if Mr. Sandman doesn’t bring you this type of dream, don’t sue him.
