“She is the first person that loved me and probably the last woman that will love me till her last breath.”
After a year of fighting cervical cancer, Michael Luangrath’s mother had overcome it, but the economy tanked and the medical bills didn’t go away. During his senior year of college, she lost her house. That was the day that Luangrath decided that somehow he would buy her a new one.
“For years, one of the goals of mine was always to provide my mother with something she worked so hard for and lost,” Luangrath wrote. It took a long time, but he saved the money and bought his mother a house. The gesture, though, is priceless. To take care of someone during the toughest part of their life, to put your own life on hold, and to never feel resentment, only love—that is a truly remarkable thing
To quote Jessa Dalit, who commented on the YouTube video, “What a wonderful man [his] mom raised.”
