To the dismay of the world’s Malala Yousafzai-inspired, the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the watchdog group which has been efforting to divest Syria of such weapons. The problem, this morning, was that the OPCW couldn’t be found. The Nobel organization tweeted:
Then, they went ahead with the live stream of the announcement.
Meanwhile, the OPCW heard the news and sent this:
As Foreign Policy’s David Kenner points out, if they just followed each other, they could send a direct message to each other. Come on, guys! Either way, the greater Twitter world had fun with it.
Either way, congrats OPCW. Malala, you’ll get ‘em next time, but we have a feeling you are WAY above it.
