Mark Greene comments on a schizophrenic anti-gay rant that went viral on YouTube.
The gay and lesbian blog-o-sphere lit up last week when a video of a shockingly graphic anti-gay rant, recorded during the non-discrimination ordinance proposal hearings in Lincoln, Nebraska went viral. It has since been reported the speaker is, in fact, schizophrenic.
Aksarbent reports: “Readers, please understand that contrary to the headline (written before AKSARBENT confirmed that the woman is indeed schizophrenic), it is unlikely that she is a hater. She is deluded — an excuse that the several of the more homophobic, manipulative and mean spirited medical professionals at the hearing cannot offer.
Ultimately, the video (above) remains a frightening and hyper-extreme experience to watch.
But the question remains, how does it affect the way we view to world to have access to polarizing videos like this on an ongoing basis?

The best, most important property of the world wide web is anybody, anywhere can reach as many people as even the biggest publishing company, radio, or television station. While surely a positive for society, this puts great responsibility on audiences to more deeply consider the source of the information they consume.
All that being said, I’d love to know how much Fox News is going to offer this lady to be their newest analyst.
