Over 10% of the homeless adults in America are veterans of the armed forces.
According to the USC School of Social Work, one of the major challenges America’s vets face is homelessness. Vets are twice as likely to become chronically homeless due, in part, to their higher rates of unemployment, mental illness and poverty. This infographic sheds light on the demographics of homeless Americans, and what the US government and other nonprofit organizations are doing to help address the issue.
