For Bibi and Poldi, these two giant tortoises at a zoo in Austria, are both said to be 115-years-old and they were brought up together. But it was love on the rocks after Bibi, the female, took a chunk out of her mate’s shell.
Boldi shouldn’t have to put up with that kind of physical abuse.
“They just go at each other. At first, it was only the female who attacked the male and bit him. But now you get the feeling they can’t stand the sight of each other,” said Zoo Director Helga Happ.
I mean, if those two crazy kids can’t make it work, what chance do the rest of us have?
Far be it from me to judge anybody, but it’s all Bibi’s fault. She’s such a shrew.
First, she told him to stop calling her “Turtledove” because “it never made any sense, anyway!”
Then, Boldi wanted to try new positions sexually, you know, to spice things up in the enclosure. “God forbid she ever turns over on her back,” he groused. But Bibi said he was moving to fast for her. She was content to only do it Tortoise Style, and only on his birthday.
Poor guy. Hope he can find some new tail soon…
