If you were like me, you were doubting Michael Phelps.
I know it’s typical of Americans like me to be cynical, but I felt his ego had overtaken his skill. People talked about choking on the smoke from his bong, about him getting lazy…
But the smart money was still on Phelps. He is still gifted, he is still one of the most talented swimmers ever. And now he’s the most decorated Olympian in history after winning a gold medal in the 4X200 relay.
Yep, it’s true. The one you love to hate, Michael Phelps, has won the most medals of any Olympian in history.
Love him or not, he’s ours and we should be proud.
