Mike Patterson, who drew national attention after breaking his neck when he dove into a creek to save a drowning child, died late last week. A statement on the Friends of Mike Patterson Facebook page, which was also confirmed by his brother on the Friends of Mike Patterson webpage on Friday said, “We pray for a peace that surpasses all understanding. We find comfort and solace in knowing that Mike is whole and healthy again, walking in the Kingdom.”
Patterson was 43-years-old, and was surrounded by his family when he passed.

Such a tragedy. People, if you do not know the water, DO NOT DIVE HEADFIRST. Jump in feet first or walk in, a broken or cut leg is immensely better than spine damage. Too many people make this tragic mistake.
