In their new series, two award winning journalists go undercover to expose those “worlds” so many may not even know exist.
Mariana Van Zeller and Darren Foster, both Peabody Award winning journalists, joined host Jacob Soboroff of HuffPost Live in the studio Tuesday to discuss their new National Geographic series, “Inside: Secret America,” in which they will go “undercover to expose worlds rarely seen by the public.” In this clip, the pair successfully purchase an AK-47 assault rifle in a parking lot without submitting to a background check or any of the other legal requirements for purchasing an assault weapon.

I’m surprised by the reacts I see nowadays , do people really expect things to just disappear all together?
That’s not gonna happen… not today, not tomorrow, never.
That goes for racism and sexism too.
And is a private sale illegal in the state in which this occurred?
I know I’ve bought Craig’s List items in parking lots.
Actually, I’m of the opinion that the Craig’s List sellers who want to meet in parking lots are not concerned about driving around with stolen items.
And don’t get me started on “Assault Rifles” I remember when cheap hand guns, “Saturday Night Specials” we’re the scourge of the Western World.

First, they make up a word salad “assault rifle”. Excuse me, but “assault” is a crime. Why not refer to certain guns as “murder” rifles. That would also set a certain tone without really providing information. Second, they ignore the fact that the most popular rifle in America these days is functionally the same as a legal, not-fully-automatic civilianized AK 47.
