The Good Men Project

We’re Looking for Bloggers

CallForBloggers

If you have interest in how men are changing in the 21st century, and want the benefits of writing for a large, engaged and growing platform, consider joining The Good Men Project team.

If writing about manhood in any form appeals to you, we’d love for you to become a regular blogger. You will get a terrific platform (the total network is steadily growing, but right now gets over 5 million pageviews a month) and an opportunity to help shape the publication. There really is no limit to what you can blog about, as long as it relates in some way to things that men care about—or should care about. Be funny. Be sad. But be original. First person narratives that lead to some deeper, universal truths are always welcome here. Check out our about page if you want to learn more about who we are and how we’ve grown.

Here’s some ideas of what you can write about:

-Football’s starting back up. Are you in a fantasy football league, or do you religiously follow a team?

-Do you have a crazy/dirty/unbelievable job? Surely that comes with its own share of great stories.
-Dads — we know you are rocking this world with stories of parenting. Dad bloggers are single-handedly changing the stereotypes about men as incompetent, disengaged parents. We’d like more!
-Speaking of stereotypes—we’re looking to change all sorts of stereotypes about men. Men are multi-dimensional, empathetic, multi-faceted, open communicators, not aggressors, not villains. If you have stories that tell stories that make these points, great.
-We have, we believe, the only regular section about men and marriage — anywhere. It shouldn’t be groundbreaking, but is. Join in if you’d like to give a unique perspective on men and marriage.
-Do you religiously follow a TV show? Write a recap/review as part of a “water cooler” series. Or become a book reviewer, if books are your thing.
– Perhaps ethics, or politics or simply unique perspectives on news stories are your things. We’d can always use more of that.
– What are we missing? Adventure? Travel? Food? Style? If you’re into it, we’re into it.

Virtually anything you can imagine can turn into a series of posts.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in becoming a blogger at The Good Men Project, please email Noah Brand at streak@well.com and Lisa Hickey at lisa@goodmenproject.com with a pitch. We’ll want to know what your particular slant is, what you want to write about, and how you expect to do it. Some sense of your writing (and life) experience would help too along with your social media platform, if you have one. But there are no particular requirements other than a good idea and brutal honesty and, hopefully, a sense of humor.
