It’s an “only in America” story…
Newser reports:
Last year, the FBI named the Juggalos, fans of the clown-faced hip-hop band Insane Clown Posse, as a “hybrid gang.” Now, the ICP is fighting back, telling fans yesterday that the band will sue the FBI, reports the Village Voice.
Apparently if they get classified as a gang, then there are harsher penalties and crimes committed by members can be attributed to the gang.
Insane Clown Posse has set up a website where Juggalos can document when they think they’ve had their rights violated, for free legal advice or representation.
Newser adds a quote:
“We’re not attacking the FBI, but they got this wrong,” says band member Violent J (Joseph Bruce). “The Juggalos are not a gang, and that needs to be fixed.”
What do you think about the Juggalos? Are they a violent gang, or just fans who get a bad rap?

Generally speaking, the only thing the head of a band’s fan club is likely to encourage members to do is to listen to and buy more music. I have yet to hear of the ICP encouraging crime, because that would be stupid, as you can’t buy things nearly as easily from prison.
Thank you! I myself am a Juggalo and it is so refreshing to hear someone that understands a bit of whats going on. All that I want to do is listen to my music, and not be worried about wearing my favorite band hat in public. They have said it themselves and I agree with them, they are simply entertainers trying to make money. What one Juggalo goes out and does is his own business. There is no “they made me do it” bullcrap, in the end it is still the individual’s choice to participate in gang like activity. Why… Read more »
