Have you ever heard of the law of attraction? If you spent enough time reading books or watching YouTube videos about self-help, you are probably familiar with that law of the universe.
Perhaps, you have heard about it from The Secret. It was a book and movie created by Rhonda Byrne.
She is an Australian television writer and producer, best known for her New Thought books like The Secret and its sequel, The Power.
In 2007, she was recognized by Time Magazine as one of the top 100 who has transformed the world.
She implies that The Secret has been hidden from the public for centuries and used her book and movie to reveal it to the world.
Almost everyone in the world was or is still interested. The book has sold 19 million copies in 40 languages, while the movie has sold 2+ million DVDs. Altogether, The Secret has grossed over $300 million in sales.
With that much success, we would assume that The Secret must be changing lives. I am sure that there are many fans of the message. However, it has received its own fair share of criticism.
It was criticized by The New York Times as an “illusion of knowledge”, among other critics.
Loral Langemeier, an entrepreneur featured in the movie, offers a different approach – not defending the critics or Rhonda Byrne. Tune in to this interview as I welcome her back on the show.
