Young men are encouraged to date, to indulge in experiences with various love interests and to “sow their wild oats” before they find a person to settle down with. And we want to know why. Further, we want to know if this is the best advice to dole out anymore.
• When you were growing up were you urged to play the field, so that when you met “the one” you would have all your romantic wanderlust out of your system?
• Do you agree with the premise that young men should be coaxed and supported to be as wild as they wish to be?
• If you do agree with the “wild oats” theory, do you think that when put into play, the person living out their restless needs can do so without hurting anyone else?
• If you think the “wild oats” idea is outdated, what message do you think young men should receive instead?
• Did you have crazy moments in your younger days that you chalked up to your “adventurous twenties”? Would you change anything about those moments? Would you refuse to engage in them, or would you prolong them? Tell us why or why not?

The Good Men Project is different from most media companies. We are a “participatory media company”—which means we don’t just have content you read and share and comment on but it means we have multiple ways you can actively be a part of the conversation. As you become a deeper part of the conversation (Which really is “The Conversation No One Else is Having), you will learn all of the ways we support our Writer’s Community—community FB groups, weekly conference calls, classes in writing, editing platform building and more.
