Historically speaking, there haven’t been many movies directed by young children with vivid imaginations. This is mostly because Hollywood films take millions of dollars to produce, and elementary school students are notoriously bad at task management.
From a logistical standpoint this is certainly understandable, although I’d love to see what would happen if you gave a bunch of 8-year-olds $50 million and told them to make a movie. It probably wouldn’t make much sense, but it would definitely involve dinosaurs, lasers and explosions.
This film from andrewmfilms called “Toy Wars” only involves one of those things, but it also manages to have things like “steady camerawork” and “a coherent arc.”
It would appear that the clip is at least partially inspired by the team responsible for the incredibly well-produced “Star Wars vs. Harry Potter” and “Game of Thrones vs. Lord of the Rings,” but it manages to put its own spin on the concept.
Yes, that was a subtle “Spider-Man” joke. Watch the video and you’ll understand why it was so on point.

Connor Toole graduated from Boston College, where he spent most of his time writing things on the internet while majoring in a topic he didn’t realize he hated until he had all of the necessary credits. Standing at 6′ 10″, he is required by Giant Law to utter “Fee-fi-fo-fum” whenever someone asks him to. His interests include Mark Ruffalo.
