A World of Coffee

The top five countries in coffee consumption per capita:

That’s 12 kilograms of coffee per person in Finland each year. That’s more than 25 pounds of coffee in a year on average. I’m pretty sure I’ve never consumed 25 pounds of anything in my entire life. But maybe the Fins are onto something here. Well, we know they’re on to something. They have the smartest kids in the world. They’re one of the most gender-equal countries on the planet. And their economy is one of the fastest growing in Europe.

Maybe we should ditch the beer, water, wine, milk, soda, and any other liquids and just drink coffee?

Americans rank 26th in coffee consumption, drinking 4.4 kilograms per year. Which is still way above the worldwide average of 1.3 kilograms per year.
