If you’re not wealthy, you’re not alone. Rich people aren’t wealthy either, say rich people.
According to The Wall Street Journal:
Millionaires have their own benchmarks. According to a Fidelity Investments survey of more than 1,000 millionaires (households with at least $1 million in investible assets, excluding retirement accounts and real estate), 42 percent of respondents say they don’t feel wealthy. Keep in mind that while $1 million is the threshold, this group has an average net worth of $3.5 million.
How awful! I just can’t imagine living with such financial instability.
The 42 percent who don’t feel wealthy said they would need $7.5 million to actually feel wealthy. For the group that does feel wealthy, they only needed $1.75 million. The greedy bastards were mostly older folks, according to the study’s directors, while the content millionaires were mostly younger.
If I ever have to use the phrase “content millionaires” again, I will quit my job, light my computer on fire, and move to Iceland.
