The Good Men Project Receives the True Ally Award from Men Stopping Violence

At the Good Men Project, we’re very pleased and proud to have been selected to receive the 2011 “True Ally Award” from Men Stopping Violence. Based in Atlanta, Men Stopping Violence is committed to ending rape culture on interpersonal, community, structural, and global levels. MSV’s programs include the renowned Because We Have Daughters initiative and a highly successful Community Restoration Program.

The Good Men Project was chosen for the True Ally Award because our “articles on relationships, fatherhood, self-care, sex, and homophobia contribute valuable insights into issues that need to be addressed as we work to end male violence against women.”  One of last year’s recipients was country music singer, actor, and activist Tim McGraw.

The True Ally Award will be presented to the Good Men Project at the annual Men Stopping Violence gala, which will be held this Saturday, October 15, in downtown Atlanta.  Tickets for the event, which will be hosted by CNN anchor Don Lemon, are still available here.

Hugo Schwyzer will be in Atlanta to accept the award on behalf of the entire Good Men Project.
