Chavis Carter was shot in the head while his hands were cuffed behind him. His death has been ruled a suicide.
Now, I’m not saying that it wasn’t a suicide. It could have been a suicide. It is theoretically possible that the police managed to miss a gun in his front pockets, despite that being a really obvious part of the patdown. Maybe he was flexible enough to pull it out of his front pocket, as the bizarre reenactment video the Jonesboro police department did showed. Perhaps the police had no ability to stop him. And maybe he decided to commit suicide just because he was arrested. That is a thing that could happen! After all, who knows what those crazy criminals are up to? They don’t think like we normal people could do, they could do anything and it would be totally reasonable behavior.
Anyone want to bet what demographic group Carter is a part of? If you answered “young black male,” here is your cookie for mastery of the complete bloody obvious.
First – Thanks jesus_marley for highlighting known incidents of In Custody Suicide. Also Thanks(?) for highlighting the Ricardo Alfonso Cerna case, which though some have claimed had to be a Hollywood Special Effects type hoax, is real. The Video, and full case details, are there for those who wish to check them out – but it is graphic – explicitly graphic – It is disturbing – and it shows reality… not some media hyped representation of reality. … even so the Conspiracy Theorists still have a field day due to Cerna having been arrested for having shot two police officers.,,,… Read more »
Perhaps the gun was fired accidentally? Assume that the police did a really poor job of doing a search, and then Carter, wearing handcuffs, tries to find some way to get rid of the (illegal) gun – and because he’s having trouble using his hands, accidentally fires the gun at himself. “Carter deliberately shot himself” and “A policeman whose name I don’t know deliberately shot him” aren’t the only possible things that could have happened. I don’t know how likely this scenario is, but murder and suicide are also both relatively rare events, too.
I can speak with certainty as I have been involved in the arrest of the person to which I am speakiing. I arrested a person for theft at a liquor store and this person in custody until police arrived. This person was then handcuffed and sat upright on the street after being searched by police. While the police were taking statements, this person was able to pull from the crack of his ass a syringe, uncap it and inject a full dose of heroin into himself, unnoticed while fully surrounded by 4 police officers, myself, and 20 other bystanders. If… Read more »
“Anyone want to bet what demographic group Carter is a part of?” Ozy that is a really easy question to answer, because if Carter had been white, this would not be getting the play in the press that it has. Let me add a little more information for those readers who haven’t been following the story. Carter was arrested for a drug dealing beef in another state. He was in a pickup with two white guys, one of whom was a minor, that also contained drug dealing paraphernalia, including a scale, baggies, and what was apparently fake powdered dope. Okay, No seriously- the link on the trending list reads “Chris Carters Death Rules Suicide”
I read that and I think former Ohio State Buckeye, Minnesota Vikings Hall of Fame wide receiver Christ Carter, who is also an NFL Sports analyst has killed himself.
After reading this, while the subject matter is grim-
I’m glad CHRIS Carter is okay.
But of course the good officers swear up and down none of them shot him, so he MUST have committed suicide. In the most complicated way possible.
