You know the drill. Do a good thing, brag about it here, bask in the applause of others and don’t be that asshole who fucks it up for everyone. 🙂

@Valerie, it is almost impossible for me to say “I am a man and will always be a man and nothing can change that despite how much I wish I was a woman” and admitting that I am, in fact, trans without offending someone. Please just roll with it. It is way too difficult for me to explain how I feel about my sex and gender with all the landmines surrounding that topic. I was born a boy, therefore I am not a girl, and I can’t change that enough for me to even bother trying. That’s my view of… Read more »
I’m sorry but I’m new here (like what I’ve read so far. A LOT!)
I dont’ know if it’s “good” or “social justice”, but I took my two nieces (8 and 11 y.o.) camping and rock climbing this weekend, which they tink is the best! but their parent have no interest in it whatsoever.
Keep up the good werk.
So, just today I told a racist asshole in line with me to shut up. I did it without even thinking about it — he was yelling something about “go back to africa”, I reacted. I then noticed he was a lot bigger than I was, and for the second time this week contemplated the likelihood that I was about to get my ass kicked. And then awkwardly stood in line for another 15 minutes while the people behind me tried to bait him into saying more shit for the entertainment value, which was almost worse — I still wasn’t… Read more »
Also that is where I was four years ago until I finally came to the realization that the wishing, the laying in bed and fantasizing about a miracle… that made it so… I don’t know what else to add.
Girls can dangle too, y’know.
I identify as a man who would be much happier had I been born as a woman. I would still very much rather be a woman, but have come to terms with the fact that I dangle and I’ll always dangle.
Show me that gun from El Goonish Shive and we’ll talk though 😉
@superglucose Not that my mind is very much blown if this is a yes, but you identify as a man and you want breasts? Or you wanted breasts when you were three and don’t anymore?
Regardless, yay for undermining cisnormativity. 🙂
Also, breasts? Pretty awesome to have from my subjective point of view… also the subjective point of view of a few nerve-endings.
Finally posted my facebook note on how porn can actually be beneficial to relationships and explained the need of two partners in a relationship to communicate their sexual wants and needs with each other. It’s a pretty scary and harrowing experience: I have many facebook friends who are old church buddies and/or family members, and I’m sure the note’s title (Relationships pt 7: Sex and Porn) will garner a rather lot of attention, as will the radical notion that men (and women) watching porn while in a committed relationship doesn’t devalue the relationship at all. Also intentionally called out a… Read more »
On Saturday, our teens band performed at the final of the NEX Factor, a teen singing contest. What was a drumming group doing at a singing contest you ask? So did the judges when they first auditioned. My reality-televisionally-challenged partner, who entered them, confused the X-Factor, a singing contest more-or-less equivalent to Pop Idol, with Britain’s Got Talent, which is open to all kinds of acts. Anyway, despite being disqualified at the audition on the grounds that they didn’t actually sing, the judges were so impressed by their performance that they were invited to open the final. My partner needs… Read more »
Trying to get 1000 women to the trans-woman-inclusive Ohio Lesbian Festival in 2012, moving towards supplanting an officially cissexist institution as the largest ostensibly all-womyn’s festival instead of helping bolster their siege rhetoric. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsgQf2rOK80&feature=player_embedded Sorry, men can’t come… unless you’ve just been pretending to be men because you didn’t quite come to grips with the idea that there was an alternative, in which case, feel free to drop me a line… it’s a long time until next September. Which of course brings me to my more general volunteer, freelance, translesbian, social work, explaining to trans women that if they want… Read more »
Little background: I’m entering college in the fall; my college made us take this little internet course on alcohol over the summer that had a section on sexual assault. It included the 1 in 33 men are raped statistic.
Some guy posted to my college’s facebook page (Tuesday I think) all “WTF it’s that high?”, and long story short I (and a few other people) managed to convince him “yeah at least that high”.
So I educated someone and I’m feeling good.
A friend of mine called a certain female politician a “stupid cunt”
I pointed out that his choice of insult was needlessly gendered and sexist, and besides “self-righteous asshole” was a more descriptive and correct insult.
