When we think about first date ideas, usually, dinner and movies pop into our heads. It’s not a bad date idea, but will it lead to a second date? Better yet, will it lead to marriage? It’s a good question, and one we all want the answer to. Surprisingly, there are specific first date locations which have a better chance of igniting the sparks than others. So, if you were planning to take your date to a movie, cancel those tickets and try one of these first date ideas instead.
A food or music festival
If you and your date love food or music, why not take them to a music or food festival? Eating delicious food or listening to a favorite band is a natural conversation-starter, and makes for a positive and atmospheric setting. Plus, you’ll be able to find out more about what your date likes in terms of music and food, which, at the end of the day, matters.
Head to the bar
Though some people would air on the side of caution when going to a bar on a first date, it’s actually a very successful date location. Most people are incredibly nervous when going on a first date, especially if they really like the person. Heading to a bar and having a drink or two works wonders in reducing nerves and engaging in conversation. Picking a bar with a view will create a fun and light atmosphere.
A romantic dinner date
The purpose of the first date is to get to know the person you’re interested in, which means you two need to talk. If you’re anxious, going on a date such as a bike ride or festival will help calm your nerves. But, if you’re comfortable, book a romantic dinner date.
Though dinner may give off a “serious” vibe, it’s one of the best ways to get to know someone. You spend an hour or two sitting down with your date, getting to know them. When it comes to first date ideas, this is one of the most successful dates that lead to marriage.
Bike ride
No one wants to do heavy sports as a first date idea, but a romantic bike ride around the city or a lake is a playful and relaxing way to get to know someone. Most scenic locations or cities have the option to rent bikes, whether it’s for an hour or a day. So, grab a pair of bikes and start exploring. If you two are enjoying the ride, during the date, park your bikes and grab some ice cream or drinks, and get talking.
A quick coffee or ice cream date
Not all dates need to last hours and hours. In fact, a great first date should be relatively short and sweet, as it’s meant to give you an overall impression of your date. Grabbing a quick coffee or ice cream is not only easy but, if it goes well, you can extend the date by grabbing lunch or dinner. And if the date doesn’t go well, you didn’t empty your wallet or waste hours of your time.
The amusement park
The thrilling rollercoaster, the romantic and scenic Ferris wheel, adrenaline is certainly a great way to spark the romance. The amusement park is an excellent day-date option. Firstly, there’s no time limit to how long you can stay at an amusement park, and secondly, it lets the two of you laugh and be playful together. Not all first dates have to revolve around a candlelit dinner table.
The beach
Now, some people become a little anxious when thinking about going to the beach for their first date. But don’t assume you need to sit in your bikini or speedo, that’s not what leads to a second date. In fact, a first date on the beach only needs a blanket, chairs, and snacks. That’s it. You just need to let the scenery do the rest of the work. Whether it’s a day or night date, romance will be in the air.
Of course, if there’s chemistry between you two, anywhere you go could potentially lead to marriage. But, these first date locations give you time to get to know each other and engage in meaningful conversation, which is the key to relationships.
