Earlier on Monday, Guardian web sport deputy editor James Dart tweeted this terrific photo of a speed skater giving the double bird to the competitor in front of him at the finish line. It contained no context, no photo credit. But it was too good not to retweet, especially given the Fainting Couch Outrage directed at Richard Sherman on Sunday night.
You’ve prob seen the pic by now, but this video of Middle Fingers Speed Skater is incredible: http://t.co/CbzqD2JqdS pic.twitter.com/hdUnwe0RWl

We’ve since learned the photo was taken by Getty’s Robert Michael, and the caption names the competitors: “The Netherlands’ Sjinkie Knegt unloads both barrels on Russia’s Victor An after losing the men’s 5000m relay at ISU European short track speed skating championships this Sunday.”
Thankfully the video that accompanies this image is just as good as the still shot — the kicking motion that follows the double bird flip is priceless:
As for Sherman, here’s a great compilation of the Seahawks cornerback becoming the first athlete ever to talk trash in the heat of the moment:
