What better way to learn how to play football, then to watch Swivel Hips Smith and Taxidermy Tech take on arch-rival, Anthropology A&M?
—
Last week, in this space, we explained the complex simplicity of baseball.
This week, we’re taking on football.
Luckily, we don’t have to recreate the wheel here. Disney already took care of explaining football, in this 1944 “Sports Goofy” short, in the context of a Taxidermy Tech vs. Anthropology A&M rivalry matchup, where the “two teams resplendent in brilliant uniforms, create a riot of color and atmosphere unequaled by any other game on earth.”
It’s all there: over-the-top commercialism, pageantry, raw athleticism, field general-ing, complex signal calling, coddling star players, brutal head injuries, drama, an inspirational halftime speech, MORE brutal head injuries, heroism, desperation, and #winning.
Be dazzled – and then horrified – and then dazzled again by Swivel Hips Smith!!
Learn Football!!
