T2TB Week: Lee’s Layup

Thanks to everyone who read and took part in the first four days of T2TB Week. We’ll be back on Monday with more.

I want to really grill the ball about Courtney Lee’s missed layup at the end of Game Two of the 2009 NBA Finals. That ball seemed to have eyes and just skip off the rim despite a point blank shot. Make that layup and the series is tied 1-1 going back to Orlando and the Magic won Game Three and so they would have been up 2-1 and then … who knows?

I’ve never bought into the grand conspiracy theories that David Stern is manipulating the referees to get his desired results just for television ratings. But if Stern could conspire with the balls to do things like miss key layups or fly out into the hands Robert Horry with the game on the line it would explain a lot. I want to really just go corrupt 1940s Los Angeles cop interrogation on the ball and get a confession. Then we’ll have some answers.
