One of the major aspects of running any business is being open and welcoming to all of your clients and customers. By being such a business, you will find that your clients find it easier to open up communication channels between the two of you, and that you are a lot more likely to build strong and loyal relations with the people who buy and use your products. However, even though the majority of business owners and entrepreneurs realize that this is the case, very few of them work on their office space to ensure it is a welcoming environment for visiting clients.
Do you think that your office could do with an upgrade? Here’s how you ensure that every client who steps through your door always feels welcome.
- Make sure it’s easy to find. First and foremost, your office needs to be very easy to find. Otherwise, your clients could end up getting lost and by the time they eventually make it to your office, they might be very tired and frustrated. That won’t set them up well for their meeting with you! So, you should make sure that your company address is clearly visible on your business cards and website. If you rent out rooms in a large office block, use a company that offers laser etching services to help you create a sign with your company’s name and logo on it. This can be placed outside your main entrance to help clients see where to go.
- It needs to be accessible. Your office needs to be accessible to everyone, even those who are dependent on wheelchairs or may suffer from other disabilities. The best thing you can do is to add a disabled car parking space to the carpark. Ideally, your building should also have an elevator, but if you aren’t able to install one for whatever reason, you should instead see about installing a stair lift to the flight of stairs. That way, no one will feel like they are unable to make the trip up to your office space.
- Train your receptionist. Your office receptionist will most likely be the very first person a visiting client comes into contact with when they visit your office. So, it is extremely important that they know exactly what to do with any visitors and that they are well trained in customer service. That way, they will then know how to act professionally and in a way that will really impress all of your visitors. They also need to ensure that they ask everyone if they would like a drink while they wait for the meeting.
- Keep it clean. If someone turns up to your office and sees that it is a bit of a mess, this could reflect how they feel about your work. After all, it doesn’t give off a good first impression! So, make sure the office is always clean and tidy.
Hopefully, all of these tips will help your office feel very welcoming to visiting clients!
